2 Robbers Killed in Shootout

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga – Two alleged members of a robbery group were killed in a shootout with police Saturday in Camiling, Tarlac, police said yesterday.

Supt. Romeo de Castro, Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) spokesperson, said the two unidentified slain suspects were armed with a .38-caliber revolver and an improvised .35-caliber gun.

De Castro said the suspects reportedly robbed a gasoline station in Barangay Cacamilingan Sur, taking with them P2,000 in cash, two cellular phones, and a calculator.

Gas station employees Alfonso Riparip and Hector Listano immediately reported the incident to the nearest police stations.

The police chased the fleeing gunmen who were later cornered along Paniqui-Camiling road where the shootout occurred.
